Photographing the London Marathon is always a spectacle, but it’s the fancy dress runners that often steal the show. From superheroes to giant bananas, each costume brings personality, humour, and a story worth capturing. As they pass by, there’s a split second to frame the shot – balancing movement, crowd energy, and expression. These moments go beyond sport; they’re about spirit, creativity, and resilience. Whilst taking photos on the day, I aim to document not just the race, but the joy and individuality that make the marathon one of London’s most vibrant visual events.
